ABOUT US

Northville was settled by pioneers from New York in 1825. Our Victorian logo reflects that heritage.

The Northville Genealogical Society was organized on 24 June 1987 and meets in downtown Northville. We meet at 1:30 for Member Presentations, followed by the General Meeting at 2:30 p.m and speaker at 3:00.
Note: We are having hybrid meetings.   If you would like to attend a Zoom meeting, contact nvgen1@gmail.com for the link.

Meetings are held on the second Sunday of the month (unless noted) in the Carlos Meeting Room of the Northville District Library (212 W. Cady Street, 248-349-3020).

We warmly welcome visitors and prospective new members.

We are a dynamic group of family historians who keep abreast of the latest technology while utilizing established research techniques. We have an interest in researching and preserving family history. We have opportunities to share what we have learned with other members. Some of our members are beginners and some have been researching for many years. We serve Northville, Canton, Lyon Township, Livonia, New Hudson, Novi, Plymouth, Salem, South Lyon, Walled Lake, Westland and Wixom.

We offer:
– Informative speakers at our meetings
– Short business meetings
– Refreshments and friendships
– Five newsletters per year with research tips, the latest genealogical news, new websites to investigate, local programs and seminars.
(a perk of membership)
